Majestic Updates!
Don't you just love it when all of your ducks are in a row? So do we! Back to front: Airline Ellie, Evie, Deja Vu, Asaru and Miracle!
Evie's immune system isn't what it used to be and she tends to get eye infections from time-to-time. These infections aren't caused by anything outside of the normal things routinely found outdoors and within our natural enclosures and stream-fed ponds, so it's nothing we can address or prevent.
Whenever her eye infections start, we immediately begin treating Evie with vet-prescribed antibiotic eye ointment (and sometimes oral antibiotics), but this time around, her meds just weren't working, so we brought her to Norwichtown Vet Hospital. Here, Dr. Pacheco swabbed her eye lids and nares (in case her eye sympomts somehow related to a mild sinus infection) and then sent them out for culture. It's normal for nares to have bacteria in them that aren't necessarily causing any bodily harm, but just to be sure we were targeting the culprit, we addressed all three types of bacteria that grew from the culture.
Evie is well into her new round of medication and her eyes are clearing up nicely! In the meantime, she's still going about all of her normal business because NOTHING slows our Eviedown!
