Ducks and Geese Adopted
Here are photos of the ducks and geese that we have
placed in permanent homes so far. We love to hear from
their new families. If you have updated photos of a duck
or goose you have adopted from us, or a story to share
about them, please email us, so we can update this page
for you.

Victor-Victoria (so named because his gender originally baffled
us!) is a gentle and shy goose and was a quick fit into our flock. Victor was rescued from a pond and has a slight limp and an injury to his
left
eye, which has left him permanently blind on that side.
We refered to Victor-Victoria as our little lost soul... He tended to distance
himself from the flock in order to avoid any trouble with the other males and is also shy around us.
What Vic really needed was a new family
who could spend lots of one-on-one time with him and who can teach him to trust
people. And we found that for Vic! He joined a family with a couple of ducks and
an older female goose for him to love. We are so happy for our
boy!

Big Boy and his pal Bentley were abandoned on a pond a
few years ago. Rescuers have been working on placing all of the abandoned
waterfowl
at the site into new homes and only a month before going to their new family, someone dumped
oil into the water.
Both Big Boy and Bentley's feathers were coated with the oil and
the boys' feathers could no longer properly repel water. Rescuers had to remove
all of the oil from their feathers with a vet-specified routine, including the
good oils. The boys then came to us to properly re-oil while until their
pre-arranged home was ready to take them.
The two boys were very sweet and calm and we
truly enjoyed having them both at our sanctuary
and wish them well in their new home. Special
thanks to Caroline for everything she did for
these fellows.
