Ducks and Geese Adopted

Here are photos of the ducks and geese that we have placed in permanent homes so far. We love to hear from their new families. If you have updated photos of a duck or goose you have adopted from us, or a story to share about them, please email us, so we can update this page for you.

Macy Gray & Mariah came to us terribly underweight and with most of their neck and back feathers plucked out.

They came from a location where the hens were FAR outnumbered by drakes. They struggled to get by so many boys to get to their food and spent the bulk of their days hunkered down and hiding in the grass so the boys wouldn't see them.

Within weeks of being in our care these two lovely girls grew back their feathers and put on some healthy weight. They learned that whenever we came into their pen they would get some healthy treats, so they lost a great deal of their fear of humans.

Macy Gray & Mariah went to their new home with two Pekin boys and a Mallard girl to befriend.

Avril & Alanis were abandoned on a pond and discovered there that very same day, which is great news for them!

These are two friendly, happy little girls who love people and eat out of our hands and enjoy lots of human attention.

Initially, these two ladies were intended to retire here at Majestic and slotted to take over retired resident Deirdre duck's responsibilities. We hoped they would welcome newcomers and teach them the ropes, but Avril & Alanis would rather play around together than be bogged down with any grown-up responsibilities.

Expecting them to stay with us, we grew very attached to these girls and waited to find the PERFECT new home for them. Today they are enjoying a wonderful new life with their new family, Puff Daddy and three beautiful chickens.

Puff Daddy was rescued from a situation where drakes outnumbered hens and he was being picked on pretty badly by the other boys. Many of his crest feathers were plucked out and he sustained an eye injury, but we quickly got him back into shape again.

Puff Daddy is pretty shy, but he does comes running when we have worms for him to eat! Since being adopted, P. Diddy has fallen in love with Avril... and who knows maybe he'll be smitten with Alanis too when spring comes!
