Domestic Duck & Goose Rescue Organizations--State Listing

Have a situation with a domestic duck or goose who needs to find shelter in your area? Or maybe you want to adopt a pet duck or goose! Below you will find a list of sanctuaries and shelters who may be able to help you directly or refer you to someone else who can.

Please note, this is a directory resource only. Majestic has not visited most of these organizations and therefore cannot directly vouch for them. Please do your own research and homework.

And-Hof Animal Sanctuary
And-Hof's mission is to rescue farm Animals from cruelty and neglect and to provide them with a caring, nurturing home, where they can be rehabilitated and recover from their past. Their primary emphasis at And-Hof Animals is to save lives. But they are also committed to raise public awareness of Animal abuse and to the institutionalized brutality for their commercial exploitation. Location: NY

Autumn Farm Sanctuary
It is the mission, duty and purpose of Autumn Farm to provide shelter and protection to farm animals as well as providing a positive and compassionate treatment of animals through rescue, education and advocacy efforts. Location: WA

Baahaus Animal Rescue Group
BaaHaus is dedicated to helping abused, neglected, and abandoned domestic animals, particularly farm animals that, due to past treatment, would be difficult to place through adoption. BaaHaus devotes its resources to providing a safe and permanent home for animals from the immediate local area who are in need of a secure home. Location: WA

Cotton Branch Farm Animal Sanctuary
Cotton Branch is a 501(c)3 orginazation that provides a safe haven for abandoned, abused, neglected, and elderly farm animals.  Location: SC

Dreamtime Animal Sanctuary
Dreamtime Animal Sanctuary exists as a healing place for animals in the midst of the chaos of our world.  Location: TX

Duck Lover's Adoptions
DLA promotes responsible and proper care, raising and feeding of all waterfowl. They provide educational materials and programs for proper care, housing and feeding as well as adoption services for ducks and geese that are abandoned, endangered or just in need of a new home due to circumstances beyond their control. Location: CA

Farm Sanctuary
In 1986, Gene and Lorri Bauston found a living sheep abandoned on a stockyard "deadpile." They rescued the sheep, named her Hilda, and created Farm Sanctuary. Within ten years, Farm Sanctuary became the nation’s largest farm animal rescue and protection organization. Locations: NY & CA

Full Circle Farm Sanctuary
Full Circle is a 501(c)3 home to some 200 rescued resident farmed animals of all kinds. Location: GA

Feathered Angels Waterfowl Sanctuary
Feathered Angel's mission is to help abandoned domestic ducks and geese with food, shelter and veterinary care; and facilitate adoption into safe, loving homes. They promote education about domestic waterfowl to stop abandonment and assist owners with proper care. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Location:  TN

Green Acres Farm Sanctuary
Green Acres is an all volunteer 501(3)(c) non-profit that exists to help prevent the cruelty and commercialization of animals, especially farm animals. They provide shelter, care and board to abused, abandoned and unwanted farm animals.

Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary Inc.
Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and adopts out abused, abandoned, and neglected farm animals such as horses, ponies, pigs, hogs, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, and cattle. We provide the rescued animals with medical care, clean and safe housing, and as much TLC as possible. We work in cooperation with a variety of other rescue groups, both local and out of state, to network and help find homes for the rescued farm animals. Location: OH

HartSong Ranch Animal Sanctuary
Hartsong Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non profit animal welfare organization. HartSong is a magical, hidden place for previously neglected, abused, unadoptable horses and farm animals. Their mission is to provide a landscape of quiet and tranquility for the animals that live within their gates – a place where they can enjoy nature, peace of mind and suffer no more. Location: CA

Harvest Home Animals Sanctuary
Harvest Home's mission is to provide life-long care for their rescued animals, and to educate the public about humane animal care and practices. They are a 501(c)3 organization that rehabilitates, both physically and psychologically, mistreated animals and, if possible, finds appropriate new homes for them. In an effort to prevent further cruelty to these animals, they educate the public on caring for companion animals as well as on issues concerning farmed animals.  Location: CA

Heartland Farm Sanctuary
Heartland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless farm animals, and building connections between animals and vulnerable youth. We created Heartland to provide a safe, peaceful environment where youth and farm animals could come together to heal, grow, and have fun. Location: WA

Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary
Hope Haven is a 501(c)3 non-profit farm animal sanctuary that rescues neglected pigs, goats, sheep, and poultry, llama, and alpaca. These animals have been surrendered at local animal shelters, confiscated by local humane agents, or saved from factory farms. They now live out their lives with comfortable housing, nutritious food, and companionship from others of their own kind. They also receive endless love and affection from the human components of the sanctuary!

Indraloka Animal Sanctuary
Indraloka provides “heaven on earth” for farm animals that have nowhere else to turn. We inform, inspire, and empower the community, especially children, on ways in which we can better care for ourselves and the environment while helping animals in need. We advocate for a kind and compassionate diet that protects animals, the earth, and our own health. Location: PA

Iowa Farm Sanctuary
Iowa Farm Sanctuary provides a safe haven to rescued farm animals in need of love and compassion while providing humans the opportunity to experience the unique sentience and intelligence found within these animals. Location: IA

Izzie's Pond
Izzie's Pond is a non-profit rescue group. Donations and adoption fees help us cover the expense of rescuing, feeding and providing medical care for the many injured, orphaned, or abandoned waterfowl that come to us. Location: SC

Kindred Spirits
The concepts of eldercare and hospice are relatively new as applied to companion and domestic animals. Elderly animals are frequently neglected, abandoned or euthanized before their time. The attitude that animals are disposable when they reach their senior years permeates much of American society. KSAS strives to create positive changes in attitude and behavior towards older animals by example here at the sanctuary, as well as through outreach programs to educate the community. Location: NM

Leilani Farm Sanctuary
Leilani Farm is aan island paradise for rescued animals where compassion for all living beings reigns. Located on eight lush acres of pure love, this all-volunteer, non-profit sanctuary saves all kinds of animals including waterfowl. Location: HI

Lucky Duck Rescue & Sanctuary
The Lucky Ducky is a non-profit 501(c)(3) domestic duck rescue whose sole purpose is to recue, rehabilitate and home adoptable ducks, while providing permanent sanctuary to ducks who cannot be re-homed. Location: CA

Maple Farm Sanctuary
Maple Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 animal sanctuary providing lifelong homes for abused, abandoned and unwanted farmed animals while promoting veganism and respect for all life through public information. Location: MA  

Michigan Duck Rescue & Sanctuary
The Sanctuary provides a safe residence for ducks that cannot care for themselves due to illness or injury or are no longer wanted as pets. Location:  MI

MSPCA, Nevins Farm
MSPCA Nevins Farm has a farm animal program that provides refuge for hundreds of animals every year--including ducks and geese! Location: MA

Pasado's Safe Haven
Pro-animal, anti-cruelty. A safe haven for adoptable farm animals. Location: WA

Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary
The animals at Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary come in all different sizes and shapes but they all share the same need. The need for a safe loving home and caretakers who respect the lives of each individual animal. Whether a domestic duck or goose has been dumped on a pond, or a potbelly pig has become "inconvenient," Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary provides lifelong care for these castoffs. They join the many rescued farm animals who had been exploited and used in agribusiness.

Peace Ridge Sanctuary
Peace Ridge was founded to address animal cruelty, neglect and exploitation, and to promote vegan ethics in New England. They advocate for all animals – farmed animals, domestic companion animals, and wildlife. Their sanctuary is currently home to over 240 farmed animals that come from all types of situations where they have been neglected, exploited, or abused. They all have their own stories, but what makes them especially unique from others just like them, is that they got out of their situation alive and are now safe. Location: ME

Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge Piedmont Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge (The Refuge) is a non-profit organization that provides lifelong sanctuary to farm animals in need, educates the public about the cruelties of factory farms, and promotes veganism by offering knowledge, support, and community to people interested in living cruelty-free lifestyles. Location: NC

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary
Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a 400 acre non-profit refuge for farm animals and wildlife located in Poolesville, Maryland. Location: MD

Rikki's Refuge
Rikki’s Refuge is a 501(c)3 organization that provides homeless, abandoned, differently-abled, and abused animals with a safe and loving place to stay. Very rarely one of their residents is adopted. Those who are not adopted receive a permanent home at Rikki’s where they live out the remainder of their natural lives. Location: VA  

Rooterville
Rooterville was inspired by farm animals in need and founded on a singular principle: Compassion. Rooterville Sanctuary is home to over 300 rescued farm animals, each of whom came from harrowing backgrounds and narrow escapes that are so common to many farm animals today. Their stories are stories of abuse, neglect, abandonment, cruelty…and then, a second chance. Location: FL

Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary
Safe Haven's mission is to rescue abused and neglected farmed animals, to restore them to health, and to provide them with a safe and loving forever home.
Location: NY

SASHA (Sanctuary and Safe Haven for Animals) Farm
is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and the mid-west's largest farm animal sanctuary. They not only provide food and water, veterinary care and a roof over their heads, they also give the animal residents lots of love, social interaction with others of their own species, and a sense of security. Location: MI

Sanctuary Moon
Sanctuary Moon is a non-profit organization and microsanctuary. They are dedicated to the care and well-being of animal individuals and their sanctuary is founded on vegan principles. Location: MI

Spokane Duck Rescue
Spokane Duck Rescue are volunteers who rescue abandoned ducks and geese in the Spokane area. Location: WA

Sunny Meadow Sanctuary
Sunny Meadow is dedicated to saving farm animals. Location: MA

Sunrise Sanctuary
Sunrise is a non-profit organization providing a loving and permanent shelter for over 170 formerly abused, neglected, disabled, and unwanted farm and companion animals. Location: OH

Sweet Farm
Sweet Farm's goal is to promote the improved welfare for farm animals. The Sweet Farm Duck Team is a colorful assortment of birds. Many of their ducks are rescued from the local humane society where they were dropped off after no longer being needed or wanted in backyards and on other farms. Some of them were even dumped in parks when people decided to try to "set them free." Being domesticated birds they couldn't survive in the wild. On any given day, you'll find the duck team hard at work eating algae, taking pond swims and laying healthy, nutrient rich eggs. Location: CA

The Quack Team
The Quack Team is a domestic duck rescue that helps save abandoned or injured ducks who need new homes. Location: SC  

Triangle Chance for All
Triangle's mission is to rescue and provide sanctuary to chickens (and an occasional duck), educate the public about farmed animals in order to end their exploitation, and promote veganism and collective liberation for all beings. Location: NC

Vine Sanctuary
Vine Sanctuary offers refuge to animals who have escaped or been rescued from injurious circumstances. Sanctuary residents include chickens, cows, ducks, doves, geese, pigeons, sheep, emus and even a few parakeets. Location: VT

Water N' Webs Waterbird Rehabilitation Center
A non-profit water bird rescue and rehabilitation centre founded in 1995 and run by licensed, highly skilled rehabilitators. They provide compassionate, quality care to water birds statewide. Also admitting domestic waterfowl, songbirds and fawn deer. Location:  P.O. Box 514, Northford, CT 06472

Wedrose Acres Farm Sanctuary
Wedrose is a 501(c) 3 non-profit animal sanctuary that nearly fifty animals call home. They support the prevention of cruelty for all animals, and proudly provide a tranquil sanctuary to both farm animals and wildlife, as well as rescued dogs and cats. Location: IL

Whisper's Sanctuary
Whisper's Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 home to many animals including horses, including burros, mules, goats, and geese.  Location: AZ

Wildwood Farm Sanctuary
Wildwood is a haven for farm animals and wildlife alike. They provide lifelong refuge and rehabilitation for abused and abandoned farm animals while lovingly protecting the property’s native plants, wetlands, woodlands, and wild animals. Location: OR

Winslow Farm Sanctuary
Winslow Farm Animal Awareness is a non-profit charitable organization devoted to the rescue and care of abandoned and mistreated animals. They exist for one purpose: to provide love and care to the many animals without a home or for those that have been abused and/or neglected by their previous owners. A sanctuary where animals can learn to trust humans once again.  Location: MA
