Majestic Diary

January 19, 2012

It's like spring outside today! All of the snow is melting... ahhhh...

Young Matthew had his breakfast and took a nice splashy bath and then did an excellent job preening and oiling while I aimed the blow dryer his way. He hasn't preened this well since falling ill, but the poor guy still isn't eating. He was able to move to the sunroom pretty early since it warmed up so fast this morning.

I want to make sure Young Matthew has a great day today. His ultrasound is tomorrow and if we find cancer and he can't come home, I want to be sure he remembers the great things and not all this syringe feeding stuff. So... I brought him outside to swim with his best friend and brother Young Jeffrey and all the ladies of course.

He had such a wonderful time. I let him swim for about a half hour before calling everyone up on shore. I don't want him getting too cold. So he's inside, in the warm sunroom preening and drying off. Lunch time is at 3:00 and then supper at 6:00. I'm going to set my alarm to feed him again at midnight and once last time at 5:00 a.m. After that, no more food until after the ultrasound. I will stay with him at the vet; I'm not going to drop him off there. I'll stay until the traveling ultrasound vet comes around, I don't care how long I have to wait. I'm not leaving him alone.

Now... take a look at these happy photos! The boys were so thrilled and comforted to see each other! They swam together the whole time.
