Ducks and Geese Adopted

Here are photos of the ducks and geese that we have placed in permanent homes so far. We love to hear from their new families. If you have updated photos of a duck or goose you have adopted from us, or a story to share about them, please email us, so we can update this page for you.

Ferdy and Penny came to us as owner surrenders when a fisher cat was relentlessly stalking them at their prior home. The family couldn't protect them and turned to us to get them to safety. This super friendly pair of girls were adopted within days of arriving at our sanctuary and are living safely and happily with their two new Cayuga sisters!

Daisy Duke is an energetic little girl who hatched in the spring of 2014 and was surrendered to our sanctuary when she was two years old along with her sister River-Roo (who passed away of egg peritonitis soon after arriving).

Daisy Duke was always very busy and quacky, with lots to do so much to say! She was paired off with Piper for many years until he was diagnosed with old age liver cancer in August of 2020. Afterwards she spent a few years with old Shorty and then her remaining time with Eeben and Ellie. She was diagnosed with end-stage liver cancer 10/22/21 and humanely and painlessly helped to cross over to the next world.

Eeben was a BIG boy who began having issues with arthritis in his right ankle in 2021. He was adopted to a very special indoor home with a few other ducks to befriend. He was undergoing multiple Majestic vet-prescripbed treatment therapies to keep him walking for as long as possible, but in the end, he succumbed to his pain medications, which were not easy on his liver. He passed away peacefully in their home.

Name:  Ah-hamed Ibn Fahalan Ibn Alabas Ibn Rasheed Ibn Hamad
"Ibn" means "Son of" so my super-duper long name is actually my detailed lineage. My momma duck says every homeless duck should be rewarded with one of these upon being rescued.

Nickname:  Eeben

Favorite Movie:  The 13th Warrior (which inspired my warrior name!)

Favorite Song:  The Warrior

Favorite Place:  Anywhere with Airline Ellie!

Favorite Food:  Nightcrawlers, watermelon, mealy worms and lettuce

Favorite Drink:  Puddles and ponds

Favorite Colors: White & orange

Pet Peeves: Boy Ducks. Nope. Won't have any part of that. Not in my pen. Don't even try it. I need my own space. From guys I mean. Not from babes. Always plenty of room for those in my pen.

Likes:  Babes. Lots and lots of babes. Because I'm a big boy, it's best if your girl ducks (if you have any) aren't too small--just like my Ellie. I don't want to accidentally smoosh someone.

Special Qualities:  I'm a duck! What more do you need? OKay, okay... I'm a human-imprinted, super friendly boy who likes to waddle up to my human for a good neck snuggle every now and then (especially when it's a surprise they aren't expecting... I just wait for them to sit down in my pen and then... sneak up slowly.... and then... HUGGIES! Didn't see that coming, did ya? Ha ha!).

My Story: It all began when I hatched out of my egg in a school incubator. The teacher had no clue what they were doing. My egg wasn't rolled right, so I have a bit of wry tail going on and angel wing on one side too. I was fed cereal and yogurt rather than actual duckling starter feed from the store (which didn't help my angel wing any). Then, the teacher brought me outside to run around in the grass and a hawk almost took me away forever! Thank goodness one of the kids had a mommy who saw the whole thing and saved me. She brought me to Majestic and then fought the school to be sure they stopped the inhumane of hatching out ducklings to teach kids stuff they could just learn in a book.

Things You Should Know About Me:  Although I have wry tail and angel wing (a bit of crooked tail and a few flipped wing feathers), I'm a very healthy boy and neither of these things give me any trouble at all, nor should they ever. I like to eat a LOT as soon as the weather begins to turn cold. I have good instincts about putting on a thick layer of fat for winter. My momma says she can judge how bad winter is going to be just based on how big my tummy gets! Don't be alarmed by those two pounds I put on, though, because I'm very disciplined and will lose it again in the spring. It's important to get fit for summer, so I can look good for the babes!

Favorite Photos of Me:

Here I am looking at my own gorgeous reflection...

Here I am with Ellie (that's me on the left)...

Here's an artsy one of me, so that you'll know I'm quite dignified...

Name:  Airline Ellie

Nickname:  Ellie

Favorite Song :  Leaving On a Jet Plane

Favorite Saying:  Qu-Quacky, Qu-Quacky, Qu-Quacky, Qu-Quacky!!!

Favorite Place:  Anyplace near food

Favorite Food:  Nightcrawlers, watermelon, mealy worms and lettuce

Favorite Drink:  Pools and Buckets of water

Favorite Colors: Whatever color Eeben's eyes are... he's so dreamy...

Pet Peeves: Being hungry. Don't like that at all. Need food. Always. I also don't like any other boys other than my Eeben, so don't even try it!

Likes:  Food. I like Mazuri in my feed bowl at all times. I also need some oyster shells sprinkled on top every day too--fresh ones. I enjoy morning mealy worms too please. In the afternoons, some grass nibbling or some kind of healthy green treat is a nice way to spice up the day.

Special Qualities:  I'm a QUACKER! Yep. When I see you coming, I'm gonna go NUTS! QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK! You aren't going to believe the noise I make when I see you. That's because you bring me my treats and love me. I'm so happy to see you when you visit me, so please come out to my pen often!

My Story: It all happened so fast... I don't really remember it clearly... but the next thing I knew, I was a tiny 4 week-old, yellow duckling wandering down the Airline Trail all alone. I peeped and peeped--I was so scared! Thank goodness that family on bicycles came by when they did. I peeped again--really loudly! I'm so glad they stopped and saved me. They took me everywhere with them--even camping! But they just didn't have the right set-up for me (or another duck for company), so they brought me to Majestic, so I would have everything a duck deserves in this world.

Things You Should Know About Me:  I'm a healthy and plump girl. I am very well behaved. I don't get into any trouble (not when anyone is looking anyway...). I like playing in mud and then napping in shady places. I think I would get along with other girls, but it might take us a little time to get to know each other at first.

Favorite Photos of Me:

Here's me under my viburnam berry bush...

Yep, here's me QUACKIN'!!!

Momma says you can really see my blue eyes in this one...

Whoops! Sometimes I get a little too close to the camera!

Oh my goodness! Can you believe how little I once was?

Daisy Dolittle was surrendered to our sanctuary after her mate succombed to a predator attack. She had been living with chickens for a while before coming to us and was so happy to see ducks again when she arrived at Majestic! She is a very happy duck and was quickly adopted into her new home with a new family of ducks to call her own!

Bellatrix came to our sanctuary when she was six weeks old. Although the people surrendering her told us she was dropped off at their house, upon meeting her (and them) it became clear that they had purchased her and were no longer interested in keeping her. They were the first individuals to brazenly pull off of our driveway and park their truck right in the middle of our lawn (how RUDE!), but also the first people to bring us an owner surrender without their promised $35.00 minimum donation to cover her initial vet expenses. The good news is, Bellaxrix is a happy, healthy and friendly little girl and was adopted into her new home (with another duckling) very quickly!

Lady Bridgerton was the lone survivor of multiple coyote attacks on her free ranged flock. Her family made the right decision in bringing her to us, so she would be safe and have friends again. She was quickly adopted by the same family who welcomed Daisy Dolittle into their home. She immediately fell in love with their Khaki Campbell boy and is beginning her happily ever after!

Bottlecap Jack, Ravenclaw & Gryffin were abandoned on a pond in our very own town of Lebanon. Kim immediately drove out to investigate the report and where others had failed to round them up, she quickly had the three of them following her over to her car. She loaded them up into carriers within minutes and drove them to the sanctuary. The pair were adopted the following day by a local family who had the perfect set-up for them!

Mr. Duck (renamed Big Gustav) is an old Blue Swedish duck who lived in Maine. He was the last member of his beloved flock up. His family was taking excellent care of him, but after deciding not to get any more ducks, they began feeling bad for their boy. They reached out to a local rescue who reached out to us and we just happened to know an amazing family who also had a lonely older boy duck too named Little Argus. The family up in Maine drove 500 miles south to bring Mr. Duck to his forever home and now... Big Gustav and Little Argus are happy friends!
