Ducks and Geese Adopted

Here are photos of the ducks and geese that we have placed in permanent homes so far. We love to hear from their new families. If you have updated photos of a duck or goose you have adopted from us, or a story to share about them, please email us, so we can update this page for you.

Louise was the last survivor of her free-ranged flock. Her owners surrendered her to us before predators came for her too. Although she was very lonely when she arrived, she was not injured, so we were able to place her into a new home very quickly!

Odin arrived at our sanctuary as an owner surrender in a state of malnutrition and severe neglect. He had been deprived of ample access to bathing water, a quality diet and vet care. His neck was low to his body and crooked off to one side (torticollis) and he appeared to have nuerological issues (spinning in place in circles). Both of his eyes were closed with severe eye discharge matting down his facial feathers.

After three weeks in our care, he made a HUGE turnaround and was walking, seeing a tiny bit out of one eye, quacking, swimming and THRIVING! He was quickly adopted to his amazing new family and has since become their indoor duck!

Miggy was abandoned on a pond. She was rescued, brought here and then adopted to her new family where she is very happy!

Jack & Jill were abandoned on a pond. Regional Animal Control stopped by our sanctuary to ask for help determining their genders and examining the female (who had a severe staph infection in one leg). We reached out to a contact of ours who knew of an experienced and loving family, willing to adopt them and provide them with a safe pen and full vet care—along with anything else they might need. These two didn’t have to stay at the pound very long!

Luckie suffered a terrible ankle injury and was having a very difficult time keeping up with her flock. She was also enduring some bottom of the pecking order, flock-enduced hardships. Upon hearing she needed a new home, we matched her up with a family who had been searching for a special needs companion to match up with their own special needs girl.

Mahkey was illegally dumped off on on a pond with 7 other Muscovy ducks. Unfortunately, someone else illegally captured and removed 6 of his friendly siblings two days before we arrived to rescue them with full permission from the property owners. We have no idea what their intentions were, but can only hope... Rescue attempts continue as we work to safely capture Mahkey's brother. Once we do, he can go and join Mahkey in his adoptive home.
